At LES CHEVALIERS D’ARGOUGES every chocolate and every confection leaving the factory is checked by the quality control department to ensure the highest standards.

LES CHEVALIERS D’ARGOUGES standard

• Traceability checks pinpoint the source of products and the raw materials
• Quality controls at every stage of production and storage ensure the quality of the product and the safety of the consumer
• Tests: for taste, shelf life of products, bacteriological controls are carried out throughout the production process.
• Service quality: listening to the customers and responding to their wishes is of prime importance.
• Personnel quality: The human resources policy supports staff development with continuous training especially in hygiene regulations.

The ‘pure cocoa butter’ label

European directives allow chocolate to include 5 % non-cocoa fats. In France the appellation ‘pure cocoa butter’ is used for chocolate containing no other fats.
At LES CHEVALIERS D’ARGOUGES chocolates are made in the traditionally using only pure cocoa butter and all our products are labelled ‘pure cocoa butter’ on the packaging.

The ‘GOURMANDIE’ label

LES CHEVALIERS D’ARGOUGES chocolate company is actively engaged in the economic development of the region and has earned the ‘GOURMANDIE’ label as a mark of high quality produce made in Normandy. To carry this label products meet a series of standards to guarantee origin, quality and taste.
GOURMANDIE products made by LES CHEVALIERS D’ARGOUGES are:

• Douceurs Normandes (Normandy sweeties)

Food safety standards

LES CHEVALIERS D’ARGOUGES aims to achieve the IFS (International Food Standard) and BRC (British Retail Consortium) accreditation by the end of 2009. These references meet all criteria (229 demanded by the BRC and 336 for IFS) in terms of quality and food safety.
